About Me & The Go Fever

Welcome to my travel blog!

My name is Catherine. I like Asian food, South African crime fiction, British TV series and Latin American music. I’m passionate about the far away, the exotic, and the awe-inspiring.

The Go Fever was born out of a deep desire to renew with writing and to fully immerse myself in my passion for travel.

Many friends have prompted me to share my knowledge on the topic. By creating this blog, I’m hoping to do so in a way that will interest my readers by providing tips, opinions, anecdotes, musings, photographs and best itineraries, but I’m most importantly hoping to learn a lot in return.

Together with my sidekick/love of my life Simon, we aim to travel as often as possible. We’re fast-paced travelers, always wanting to discover more, see more, learn more, in the limited time that we have. No, we haven’t quit our jobs to travel full time; we’re just an ordinary couple trying to combine a full time job with the crazy idea that setting foot on all the beaches in the world is doable. This blog is here to show you that you, too, can want it all.

I think it’s fair to say that our travel personalities complete one another, and that together we have discovered how we like to travel. We’re budget travellers looking for cheap luxury, and we firmly believe that if you don’t try, you won’t get it. After all, the world is ours.

As for this blog’s title, I’ve got the hilarious P.G. Wodehouse to thank. Many of you know how much I love literature; it is in A Gentleman of Leisure that I found this fitting quote:

“I can’t keep still. I’ve got the go fever, like that man in Kipling’s book.”
